I have spent many hundreds of dollars on school shoes over the years as my son has wide feet and tends to wear shoes out very quickly (usually within 6 months) but the Ascent shoes have lasted all of 2013 and are still in good condition for 2014. I wish I had bought these shoes years ago!Helpful?Thumbs up - 0Thumbs down - 0Loading...
With durability in mind Ascent have used a durable dye-through full grain leather with an extended firm thermoplastic heel counter for heel support, and thermoplastic reinforcement at the toe to prevent deformation of the upper over time. In addition to this they have also used reinforced metal eyelets for durability
Continuing the durability internally this shoe has been lined with moisture wicking mesh ensuring breathability and also includes a microfibre wear tab at heel
The moulded EVA midsole provides long lasting cushioning throughout the life of the shoe, reactively cushioning the foot through its walk. Additional 'Insulon' cushioning in the heel absorbs shock on impact and a wrapped thermoplastic midfoot construction combined with the nylon shank stabilises and supports the foot through even the most active days
Knowing the importance of a durable outsole Ascent have used a perpetual rubber outsole with a multi-traction pattern that wraps up onto the toe and heel providing grip on a variety of surfaces. This is supported by a 6 month outsole guarantee
