This max-cushioning trail runner offers protection and comfort in abundance, boasting a 33mm stack height full of Compression molded EVA foam. Built on Altra's Balanced Cushioning platform which positions your heel and forefoot at an equal distance from the ground, the Altra Olympus 5 encourages better alignment and form. Signature FootShape toe box allows more room for your toes to splay naturally, while keeping the big toe in a straight position, allowing for more stability and increased power during toe-off.

Average Arch Height This is the amount of space between the highest point of the mid-sole and the ground. Correctly fitting shoes will take the pressure off your feet as your move, and stop the foot from rolling.

Average Heel Width This is the width of the heel in comparison to the midfoot. A narrow heel will be slimmer than the midfoot whilst a wider heel will be broader than the midfoot. If a shoe is too deep across the instep it can encourage excess movement. If the shoe is too shallow, it will be too tight and will irritate the top of the foot.

Average Foot Height This is the highest point of your foot (called the midfoot and often found underneath the laces) and the ground. Correctly fitting shoes provide stability at the heel and will ensure there is no slipping or irritation at the Achilles tendon.

Average Foot Width This is the widest point of your feet, generally the forefoot. A shoe that is too tight can lead to tension, blisters, and irritation at the ball of the foot. A shoe that is too loose will decrease stability and can encourage side-to-side movement and rolling.

Breathable engineered mesh upper, built with a hook-and-loop Gaitertrap that allows for a strapless gaiter to easily attach, granting additional protection against debris.

Outsole

Vibram Megagrip is a high-performance rubber compound that provides unparalleled grip on both wet and dry surfaces. Known to be extremely durable it is perfect to tackle any adventure with full confidence and control. Strategically placed Trail Claw multi-directional lugs provide stability on trails.

Midsole

A thick stack of compression-molded EVA foam provides a plush underfoot feel and absorbs shock with minimal weight penalty.

Interior

Altra's Inner Flex flex groove technology provides increased flexibility and helps reduce the overall weight of the shoe.
