Still designed for the player who prefers the look and feel of a running shoe but with the added protection and durability of a netball shoe the Gel-Netburner Ballistic continues to be a low profile and flexible option while a lightweight mesh upper ensures ventilation and breathability
Outsole
Netball can cause a lot of stress to the lower limbs due to the amount of side to side movement it involves therefore a High Abrasion Resistant rubber on the outersole is used for those who prefer increased flexibility. With durability being another concern Asics have wrapped the outsole around the midsole to ensure it is protected against toe drag as well as stitching it into the toe cap providing extra reinforcement\
Midsole
The Gel-Netburner Ballistic features a Solyte midsole with Gel cushioning in both the heel and forefoot to dampen the impact forces associated with play. The molded compound under midfoot area provides a controlled and contoured midsole while improving arch support and torsion stability. The shoe continues to be built on a lower profile and is more suited to a Neutral foot type This adds to the 'running-shoe like' design, however the durability and protection of a netball shoe remains. Midsole material, lighter than ASICS standard EVA and SpEVA + improve cushioning & durability\
