What Is a Good Marathon Time?
Its common as runners to constantly be chasing more and more. A new personal record, a longer distance or a more challenging marathon route. There are multiple factors that may affect your marathon finishing time with some factors being easy to menouver and some being out of your control. Learning to manage and alter things you can control is one of the most important things when it comes to being a steadfast marathon runner. When race day comes along, remembering that things such as weather are subject to change and may alter your time is something to consider to stay positive and hopeful that you’ll reach your goal.
If you're an experienced marathon runner you'll most likely have more ambitious goals. Finishing time may be your number one priority on a marathon but if you're a beginner, remember to be realistic with your time. It might take you a bit longer in comparison to a seasoned pro and there's nothing wrong with that.
The weather of course, can be very unpredictable on race day. If the marathon day is high temperature, it may take a bit longer to complete as you would slow down your pace. In contrast, if race day is cold, the weather may cause your muscles to tighten, and it may be more difficult to complete.
The type of terrain you'll face on a marathon run is never going to be 100% accurate. The surfaces you will run on may be altered and your pace may be affected so remember to consider this and remember, it may be something out of your control.
