Keeping Fit & Healthy at Home
More than ever, it is essential to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle to support good health.
Regular activity can help improve your quality of life and make you feel more energetic, as well as assist with your mental wellbeing.
According to the Government Department of Health, adults over the age of 18 should be involved in 2.5 to 5 hours of moderate physical activity. So even if you are at home, it is still beneficial to integrate some sort of physical activity into your routine.
Here are our top tips for keeping fit and healthy at home:
• Go for a walk at least daily to get out of the house
• Eat healthy and stop for lunch
• Sit outside on your break (if possible)
• Stay hydrated and drink enough water
• Commit to physical activity every day – body weight exercises are great to do at home, or add some light free weights for an extra challenge
• Wear the correct footwear for your activity
Always consult your doctor for advice on the best types of activities for you, but if you’re looking for some workouts which can be adapted to a smaller space or your home, here are our top picks from our friends at NETFIT:
